2017 Soccer Season registration is here!

Thank you for registering your child in soccer. Our philosophy is simple - "Kids having fun!" There are 6 weeks of matches beginning the week of May 22nd and ending the week of June 19th. Coaches have been encouraged to begin practices the first week of May. Games are played at the soccer fields in Gaastra, Monday thru Thursday evenings. Your child/youth will have one, sometimes two games per week on the schedule. (Note: There is some discussion between the Soccer Association and WIC Athletic Committee about U14 and U19 playing their games at Nelson).

Changes from 2016 to 2017

The season will run through the months of May and June instead of July and August. The U6, U8, U10, and U12 divisions will play “small-sided games” which will involve smaller sized fields and fewer players. The benefits of this change will result in younger players receiving more touches on the ball, becoming more skillful players, a less complicated game, more individual teaching time with the coach, better socialization, and more opportunities to score goals.

Interested in Serving?

We are in need of a few new board members (we meet once a month, 9 months of the year for one hour), coaches/assistant coaches (we'll train you!), and field prepers (to help ready the soccer fields - good exercise and fun using the paint machine). Please contact our president or vice president if interested in helping to make this league healthier.

Cost: $37.00 (1 st child); $30 (2 nd child); and $75 maximum per family

Stambaugh Elementary Gymnasium (TBA) & West Iron Middle/High School (forms in office)
Friday, Feb. 10, 17, 24, and Mar. 3, from 6-6:30 PM, at the Windsor Center

(During the start of IRSAY's indoor soccer program, Futsal)

During registration the league is offering a soccer equipment swap , so please consider donating used/like-new gear which will be made available to players at no cost during registration. Gear can be dropped off during registration, at State Farm Ins., or at Grace Covenant Church in Iron River.

This year we again are teaming up with Challenger Sports and offering a BRITISH SOCCER CAMP , the #1 soccer camp in the USA. The camp is scheduled for the week of August 14-18 at the fields in Gaastra.               First Kicks 9-10 am 3-4 yr. olds ($75)
              Mini Soccer 10:30 am-12 pm 4-6 yr. olds ($83)
              Half Day 9 am-12 pm 6-10 yr. olds ($125)
              Half Day 1-4 pm 11-14 yr. olds ($125)
              Golden Goal 1-3 pm (Mon.-Thurs.) 6-10 yr. olds ($45)
              Evening 5:30-8:30 pm 15-18 yr. olds ($125)

Registration for the camp will also include a free jersey, camp T-shirt, soccer ball, player evaluation form
and giant fold-out poster.
